On Sunday we had a wonderful gathering after all three worship services for our Discipleship Fair 2012. This was a fun gathering for fellowship and conversation as we all discern how God is calling us to serve in the year ahead. Did you find a new way to be nurtured in education, fellowship, and formation? What about new ways to share your time in outreach, hospitality, and stewardship of Palms and God’s creation around us? Let us all continue to be in prayer for one another as we prepare to dedicate our pledges of time and talent in worship this Sunday, as we continue to follow in the way God is calling us.

On December 11th, the youth of Palms gathered at their 4 th Annual Festival of Sweaters! Everyone dressed in the tackiest Christmas sweater they could find, with many extraordinary accessories (some of which lit up and blinked). We had dinner, played a game, and then went caroling in the neighborhood behind the church. We sang the hits, from “Jingle Bells” to “O Come All Ye Faithful” and we wished everyone a merry Christmas!

The X-Men raised almost $500 for BEAM! The competition was fierce. It came down to a tie-breaker for first and second place. The winners were Kyla and Cali with their original “Chocolate Chili,” which was more like a dessert than an entrée. The girls created an original recipe and spent two weekends perfecting it. They selected only brown and orange M&Ms to look like beans, chocolate syrup and milk for the base... And the rest is top secret. Everyone had a great time!
