An amazing group of LOGOS families and volunteers gather together each Wednesday night at Palms during the school year. We have Bible study, dinner and recreation together. Each week is built around a theme.
The cornerstone of the LOGOS program is relationships around the table. Each Wednesday night, children sit with their “table family” made of six children and two adults. Children are not in the same table family as their parents or siblings, and ages are mixed. The table parent volunteers lead the children in an activity or discussion. Community around the table is built week by week by week.
Because LOGOS is based on relationship building, it requires a commitment from the entire family to participate each week. It is not a drop-off program and new children cannot join at any time. Parents are required to volunteer a minimum of twice a month; we also have a large number of non-parent volunteers each week. Enrollment begins in August, and we have a mid-year enrollment in December for children who would like to join beginning in January.
LOGOS is a national program. You can find out more about LOGOS at www.thelogosministry.org. Parents of Palms’ LOGOS children report the children asking each week, “When does LOGOS meet?”, “How do we dress this week for LOGOS?” or “Is today LOGOS?” They want to come. Kids are begging to come to church, to Bible study, and to gather around a table with their church family! For more information, contact Pastor Laurie at laurie.furr-vancini@palmschurch.org.
